  • 1 kg red onions — thinly sliced

  • 170 g sugar

  • 200 ml apple cider vinegar

  • 100 ml LINIE Aquavit Original

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds

  • 1 tsp black peppercorns

  • 4 bay leaves

  • 2 tbsp coarse salt

  • Optional: lemon slices, orange slices, or cinnamon sticks

Preparation steps

    1. Bring all the ingredients to a boil and pour the liquid over the sliced onions in an airtight jar.

    2. Store the jar in the refrigerator for a minimum of 24 hours, stirring occasionally to distribute all the ingredients evenly.
