Let's prepare hand-peeled shrimp with LINIE mayo and soft-boiled eggs — a classic dish that's perfect for any special occasion, from the traditional Christmas and Easter table to a casual Sunday lunch with the family. This simple yet delicious dish combines the fresh, salty taste of the sea from the hand-peeled shrimp with the rich, creamy LINIE mayo. The addition of LINIE in the homemade mayonnaise provides a spicy note that accentuates the shrimp in a truly special way, all accompanied by a tempered glass of LINIE to complete the flavor experience.
Fun fact Did you know that LINIE Aquavit gets its unique flavor from the distinctive aging process where it travels across the equator in sherry oak casks, imparting rich sherry and oak notes to the spirit?
400 g shrimp — hand-peeled
Salt and pepper
4 slices of good, dark rye bread
LINIE-mayo (see recipe here)
½ bunch chives — finely chopped
½ bunch dill — finely chopped
Place the eggs in a pot with cold water and bring them to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat and let the eggs simmer for 9-12 minutes.
Gently peel the boiled eggs and halve them.
Spread rye bread with LINIE mayo and then place the hand-peeled shrimp on top.
Place a halved soft-boiled egg on top of the shrimp, add some more mayo, and season with salt and pepper.
Top it with fresh chives and dill and serve it immediately.
Serve with a glass of LINIE In addition to being a classic, high-quality aquavit, LINIE is also great for food pairing. What sets LINIE apart is its distinctive aging process. During maturation, it develops a natural sweetness and spiciness that makes it perfect for accompanying a variety of dishes. LINIE acts as a flavor enhancer, creating a harmonious balance between both food and aquavit.
